Under North Carolina law, the county regularly revalues property to assess property taxes so that residents and businesses are paying based on the current market value of their property. The Tax Administration Office is now in the process of reappraising properties. Property owners will receive notices of their updated valuation in early 2025. Information sessions will be held over the next few months to ensure residents have accurate information.
Union County Public Schools will have a bond to address aging facilities and upgrades on the November 5th ballot.
