As soon as January 2025, New Town Road will be closed between Will Plyler Road and Waxhaw Indian Trail Road for an NCDOT bridge replacement project. Traffic will be detoured onto Will Plyler Road around the closed section of New Town Road. A temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of Will Plyler Road and Waxhaw Indian Trail Road during the closure to accommodate turning traffic at the intersection.  Questions about the closure and bridge replacement project may be directed to the NCDOT District Office in Monroe: (704) 218-5100.
