The candidate filing period for the November 5, 2019 Municipal Elections begins at 12 noon of Friday, July 5, 2019, and ends at 12 noon on Friday, July 19, 2019. Candidates can file at the Union County Board of Elections, 316-B East Windsor Street, Monroe, NC 28112. Only those people registered to vote in the municipality are eligible to file for election to municipal office. No person may file for more than one municipal office during the same election. No governing board set the candidate filing fee, so the minimum fee of $5.00 will be charged and must be paid by cash or check.
