The Western Union Municipal Alliance met in Wesley Chapel on Thursday 22 October. The main topic of discussion was the continued high-density development proposals in our area. All member councils passed resolutions opposing the Park Place development adjacent to Wesley Chapel, and another possible site for a high-density development project was identified near Mineral Springs. The Alliance is working on a proposal to the County Board of Commissioners to give zoning jurisdiction over these areas and they hope to have an approved version to present to the commissioners in December.
