In May 1983 the Town of Weddington was incorporated with a Mayor-Council form of government through legislative action at the North Carolina General Assembly. At the January 2023 regular meeting, the Town Council voted to move forward with the change in the form of government to a Council-Manager form. Here are details of what the change means.
