The Western Union Municipal Alliance met in Wesley Chapel on Thursday 22 October. The main topic of discussion was the continued high-density development proposals in our area. All member councils passed resolutions opposing the Park Place development adjacent to Wesley Chapel, and another possible site for a high-density development project was identified near Mineral Springs. The Alliance is working on a proposal to the County Board of Commissioners to give zoning jurisdiction over these areas and they hope to have an approved version to present to the commissioners in December. Once finalized, the proposal will be posted for public review. The next meeting will be on November 19 at 4:00 p.m. at Mineral Springs Town Hall.
