2023 Municipal Candidate Filing
July 7 – July 21
The candidate filing period for the November 7, 2023 Municipal Elections begins at noon on Friday, July 7, and ends at noon on Friday, July 21, at the Union County Board of Elections, 316-B East Windsor Street, Monroe, NC 28112. The filing fee is $5 and must be paid by check, credit, or debit card. All contests are nonpartisan and no primary will be held. To be eligible to file for office, candidates must be 21 years old on Election Day and must be a registered voter residing within the municipal corporate limits. For council district seats, candidates must reside within the district. No candidate may file for more than one office during the same election.
